5 Last Minute Spring Break Trips in Florida

Spring break is nearing closer and closer. Some of us may have exciting plans to hit up Cancun for the ultimate party. Others might be going on a fun-filled family vacation. If you’re like me, however, you probably haven’t planned on doing anything crazy for this week off of school. Maybe you’re broke, maybe you work, or maybe you just don’t know what to do. Whatever your reasoning, the wanderlust of others might be motivating you to do something fun this spring break. Don’t worry my fellow college travelers, it’s never too late. Here are five last minute trips you can make this spring break!

  1. Spring(s) Break

There’s nothing better than being outdoors and experiencing the wonders that nature has to offer. Nothing says spring break like springs! (Was that too cheesy? Let me know in the comments below.) It’s true though. Luckily for us, this wonderful sunshine state is full of them. Whether you want to go tubing, snorkeling, diving, or camping, these state parks are definitely worth the visit. Some of my personal favorites are Ginnie Springs, Devil’s Den and Rainbow Springs. These places are absolutely beautiful and you are guaranteed to have a great time. Make sure to check out their Facebook pages for any special events that may be going on this spring break!

  1. St. Augustine

If you haven’t already, I definitely suggest making a visit to St. Augustine. It is the oldest city in the U.S., and it has so many trip-worthy sights to see. St. Augustine is full of beautiful architecture, history and places to go. I suggest you visit the distillery, check out some museums, climb up the lighthouse, and take a ghost tour. Also, check out the St. Augustine amphitheater; you might find a new musical love interest.

  1. Universal Orlando Resort

You might be a Disney fan, so, I guess, that works, too. However, I’m a Universal Orlando girl. Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios allow you to experience so many different worlds (Harry Potter? Yes, please) and have the time of your life. Aside from the awesome parks, there’s also great nightlife in City Walk (21+ frens). It’s sure to be litty. Also, Universal celebrates Mardi Gras, so be on the lookout for concerts in the park!

  1. The Florida Keys

No, not Keys Bar in Gulf Coast Town Center. The Florida Keys is known for being a good time, and it’s one of the best places to be during spring break. Key West is full of bars and clubs that could put New Orleans to shame. It also has the only living coral reef in the U.S., so it’s perfect for snorkeling or scuba diving. You can go fishing, parasailing, boating, or anything (not weird) that your heart desires. It’s the ultimate spring break, and you’re lucky enough to live where most people vacation.

  1. Be a tourist in your own city

Can’t get off work? Can barely afford ramen? It’s all good, frens. (Yes, “frens”.) Sometimes, the best vacations come from our own backyard. Be a tourist in your own city for a day. Do some research and figure out the best places for tourists are. Put on your tackiest outfit, charge up your camera, grab your friends and get out there! It’s amazing what kind of places you didn’t even know existed so close to home. Whatever you decide to do this spring break, be safe, take a lot of pictures, and make it one for the books!

Great post. I love the pun with springs when you talked about them. Ginnie Springs is so beautiful I recommend everyone going there at least once. Since we live in Florida that list can be helpful when just planning a nice trip too. All around loved the article. (:
